I have been so privileged to put about 300 hours in the NG in the last year and a half or so. I don't even know you, but you have me smiling...congratulations!!!! As we know, ALL airplanes are a compromise. Except THAT one. For one thing, you still have your money; that's tough to beat. No airplane is remotely as comfortable, at least to me. Few completely agree with me, but I think the Honeywell Primus Apex is the best avionics suite out there; I think it makes the G1000 (even with its brighter colors) look amateurish. That epiphany occurred one night as I caught the rabbit at minimums forecast SCT100, of course) in a snowstorm late one night on a westbound cross country fuel stop, and I realized that I had never felt so relaxed in similar circumstances. I fly a TBM850 G1000 as well, and yes, it's a riot; an afterburner-equipped Mooney. I'm asked all the time which one I'd choose, and as much as I love the TBM, the NG can't be beat overall, unless you are CERTAIN, that it's volume is sufficient. The only "downside" I can think of, is that there is so much practical automation, if I fly it too many times in a row, I am too dumbed-down to fly an old-school airplane! "Enjoy yourself!" sounds stupid under the circumstances, but you know what I mean.

I'll be in San Diego till Fri, then San Fran, then Marysville, then Denver, then Boston and then back to Montrose (to hang with John), then home to Florida. Let us know when you get back to Norcal!
