Waiting for the owner to set the date. A local aircraft dealer who served some jail time is accused of the vandalism. I have a top notch electrical IAS lined up. He also maintained a Howard 500 near Atlanta. So we are on go at a snails pace.

Yes some comments were basic. I am sure you have thought of every thing. I am absolutely convinced this project will be a total success. It will be a shining example of how to succeed where so many other similar "great ideas" have failed. You will be a fabulous partner. Quick to defend even the slightest hint of contrary commentary. There is available for investors an outline proposal of where it will be kept, who will take care of it, a budget, corporate formation, initial costs and continuing expenses projections. The insurance issues are being addressed. Flight training has been investigated. Yes I am skeptical. History repeats itself. Naturally your effort will be different. However, sophmoric insults in retribution for asking still unanswered questions is less than ideal or conducive to recruitment to even the best plans.

I am old enough to have restored several airplanes and smart enough to thoroughly evaluate before charging in. How much will the Howard cost to restore, the range is likely 400,000 to 2,000,000 with a ton of variables. When the owner gets around to meeting us, there will be two experienced Howard IAs evaluating, along with any interested BTers. If we want to talk infantile, your comments were perfect examples of a know nothing. The model for the group will be as below. I was involved in the early stages. And if you had read the full thread, you would know that. http://www.miami-airport.com/dc3.aspNow kindly get off my thread. For sure your help will not be required. I assume your pleasant company is a rare occasion.

A few things on the Howard. This is not a part time project. It will require a full time project manager/probably an IA with repair station experience. Bill Hindi comes to mind, but the crew chief of Delta 's DC-3 is also a possibility.
It will require a solid board of directors to raise and manage funds.
We do have support of the owner of two flying Howards, he also owns three parts planes that we may have access to.
I have high hopes that the current owner will participate. He has nibbled at it for years. Getting pretty old now as am I. I certainly cannot tackle this alone. Just too damned old. lazarus will be a two year project next month. That was a part time project. We hope to finally show him at Max's fly in.
Until we evaluate there is no way to say that this is a viable project. The owner controls that timing. I am sitting on go. My purpose for this thread was to explore interest. We will need literally hundreds of us to make this project bear fruit. And I would certainly bow to a greater leader at any point.

Go for it. I can't belive there are some negative responses to this thread. Expensive, sure, but so is a Bearcat or a Spitfire. This is no Baron or 421, to get a cabin this big and go as fast, you are talking a jet, and no wimpy Citation either, a big jet. A Howard is the top dog, the King of the hill. I'm assuming this is the one in Chandler? I crawled over it a few years ago, hopefully it hasn't been damaged too bad. It looked intact 5-10 years ago.

It is at Chandler. The owner is in Idaho. Have been waiting for him to set a date to meet. It is out of the question for me to go for it, twent years aga maybe. Today this is a we project, and a whole bunch of we 's at that. Maybe Jesse can sneak a preview before I come out. By the way, my son is with Southwest, but Obama sent him to Afganistan to fly generals around.
