Craig, I think people like to get a rise out of the new guy when it comes to making major purchases sometimes. We've all heard the horror stories that can happen but usually if you do your homework beforehand you greatly reduce those possibilities it seems. Where as you have lots of Aircraft experience I think you should see numbers more like what Theodore posted. I've heard all the gotchas on the turbine helo world and what this or that costs new, been told 11 maint hours per flight hour and so on... Goodluck and enjoy the Jet, I have a friend who's been enjoying one for awhile now, depending on the mission they can be great.
Now, I think Keith needs a second chance, I took him straight up and gave him the benefit of the doubt on his first thread and people make mistakes. Maybe he's going to lease one for awhile and learn to fly it? Time will tell. I think hes been beatup enough now.

I will have my type next Thursday. Your multi is done? Fascinating. I mean especially considering all those 600 plus Pacific crossings as an airline pilot.

Thanks for all the help folks.
With respect to Keith, why does anyone care? Keith if you got a jet, congrats! If it's BS, I don't care. Doesn't affect my price of fuel an ounce.
Either way, enjoy whatever you're flying and keep the shiny side up.

600 trips in four years is 150/year or about 12/month. When I flew for the airlines in my younger years (TWA), we averaged 75-80 hours/month. When I held good international trips, we did 3-4 month because they were worth 20 hour or more. Even on inefficient international trips, we never flew 12X/mo.
So that's under 7 hours/trip (2-3.5 legs for example) hour for an international destination. this doesn't pass the smell test.....
Keith, your envy theory is bullshit. With my KA, I've got nothing but encouragement, interest and Atta-boys from everyone on BT.
One more question: airline pilot buying a CJ4 doesn't add up for three reasons: Financial Need (jumpseat and non-revving sucks but it's close to free) Airline rules- I had to get permission to fly (teach) outside of TWA. I'd think that flying a bunch of hours in a CJ4 is likely to raise some management eyebrows

Wow. My experience with BT the past few years has been exactly the opposite of yours..

There is a "purity" on BT with our actual names and real issues. "Keith Gordon" is obviously a lying fraud based solely on his own posts and nonsensical comments and scenarios.
I find it rather insulting to the membership here on the site at this point. TOS 22 in my opinion is designed for the "Keith Gordon's" sitting in their parents basement or in need of help that is more suited to a psychiatric help line.
Moderators? Another thread gone awry. I would prefer we would not lower ourselves to personal attacks. I smell fish as well but I don't know, and it doesn't matter. I have my plane at ICT and have gotten to know everyone in the Citation Service Center pretty well. No one knows a Keith Gordon, but a used CJ4 did sell about a month ago (not many used ones out there being sold directly by Cessna). Who knows - I'll give Keith the benefit of the doubt, but his stories do sound far fetched, especially flying for the airlines on a Single Engine certificate. I wish we could go back to giving Craig some useful advice.

Moderators? Joe, You're wrong. Get in touch privately for a phone number and let's talk on the phone. I have nothing to hide. I'm in class from 0800 - 1200 CT, and again 1600-2200. Keith

LOL -- "nobody" knows me at the Wichita service center? Since the job is being done by the pre-owned dept not me, it isn't surprising that I'm not known everywhere. But if you talk to Peggy at the front desk or Kaye in paint/interiors, you'll find that what I speak of is true. On the maintenance side, Fred is the contact. Again, I have nothing to hide. I'm in Wichita another week and a half. When you come by to pick up your airplane , how about you get in touch and we will grab a bite to eat?

Keith Why don't you just answer the couple questions that have been asked of you publicly? You started your thread publicly. Why you got to take it private now? Just answer the damn questions.

Keith - that is great and congratulations on your new aircraft.
I know Kaye and she is a great person to deal with. This thing spun out of control and I have to say that unfortunately it may be related to some of your posts and lack of clarification, but like I say it doesn't matter.
Life is too short and BT is here so we can help each other.
I'll look you up when I'm back at ICT again. Once again - congratulations on your new CJ.
