Quote: HPN7...which is runway heading (163)to 800 Msl but only 400agl...then a climbing turn to 2000 and 320 degrees. That used to be written differently. 800 feet, rt to 320, climb and maintain 3000. Around 1988 I was right seat in a Lr24E with a co worker who read that as, go to 800 feet, turn to 320, THEN climb. In our brief he was going to level at 800' until heading 320. He was adamant that it be flown as written. I said that would put us over downtown White Plains below circling minimums... after much discussion I called the tower for clarification. The wording was later changed to be more concise.

Ya. that wouldn't be good. As wirtten, it is climb to 3,000 but due to KLGA traffic I believe it was a Climb via the SID accept maintain 2,000. It's important to "visualize" what you are about to do. Just like a golfer does on their preshot routine. Especially in a fast climbing bird. After you visualize it go over it again in the departure briefing.

1) your meeting is critical 2) KDAL -KSAT 47 min trip 3) fixed at fl300 4) clear day 5) they have no cans of Prist and adding Prist like that is not allowed by their sop 6) defueling will take hours due to it being over wing
What do you do? you get into your other jet lease instead?
