Slow down to maximum range, 259 KTAS at 310 pph. Mike C. Mike, those 441s are 2-3x the purchase price of comparable 690s with -5 engines, so they are definitely beating on bang for the buck IMO...

Yeah, same numbers can be achieved with a RSVM Jetprop 1000/900 at FL350, so it still stands. You have to compare apples to apples.

Working on a write up... Have some free time, as we are stuck in Narsarsuaq, Greenland, having lost the right starter generator at the most isolated and remote stop along our routing. Attachment: 13988105_1139204502816280_7286801166151948618_o.jpg

Acts as a good ballast and I have one if I am ever in a bad predicament. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. Your plane looks awesome.

How much does that cost and how big it is?

What other parts to you carry? Do you always carry spares or is it only for international destinations.

Username Protected wrote: Hi Patrick - Im sure Tom told you but we had 1/2 dozen generator choices on hand for you within a couple hours on Sunday. I think the ferry ride for the gen turned out to be a problem? Anyway, last time I was in Greenland I was killing the mosquitos who hitched a ride in the plane two weeks after leaving so I hope it's not mosquito season ...
Whatever you take for spares will ensure you don't need it.
Times like these makes one think a parallel start when the oil is warm would keep the gen going longer ... Bruce, the available part was much appreciated. Thank you. One was already on the way and in Denmark when Tom spoke with you and the real problem here is the flight connections, which effect people and packages. You can't get to this little bit of the world without a good three days from the U.S. Fingers crossed we get it tomorrow. Thankfully we don't have the mosquitos yet. I'm liking James' plan for a trip kit. And also, I am now seeing eye to eye with you, Bruce, on parallel starts. I figure part of the reason I was having to do series on the right side in order to get a start in a reasonable amount of time was a nearly worn out starter generator, which, then, ended up frying it... Learning experience. I love the plane and continue to be amazed by the performance, even with the occasional hiccup. Next stop Reykjavik, as soon as we get the part. Footnote: (What I am learning to really dislike, especially with having to load various different coverage areas of nav databases for a ferry flight, is Garmin/Jeppesen. With 2x G600 and a GTN 750 and 650, the database downloads are taking a huge amount of time. Why can't they just load, without a call to the help desks, and multiple hours of messing around. There always seems to be a technical problem. I also had the recent displeasure of discovering that when I had my maintenance shop upgrade my software, I lost the Jepps charts and because I can't locate the charts unlock cards which came with my install, under the prior owner, I have to buy new ones at the special discounted rate of 4x$300. What a total scam... It has to be a five dollar card. I'm going to be buying, in order to have the right to subscribe to an expensive charts service.)

Are you using jeppesen? Thats what I have and it's been bullet proof so far.
Good luck with getting your part.
