I won’t spoil it for you, but you MUST see this: It’s Raptor NG!

I have to hand it to the guy; the fun never ends when Peter is at work. OMG.... If you thought he'd bitten off more than he could chew with Raptor, just wait for Raptor NG: Twin ducted fan electric motors with batteries and a generator (hybrid). PLUS a janky-looking boxed wing design. Hard to say whether this is just lunatic ravings or if he has some backing that will take a run at this. But I feel confident in saying that there is no way in hell it's going to work. Makes the original Raptor look like a reasonable design and specs. Watch the video, it's well worth the time in amusement value. Attachment: Screen Shot 2021-08-10 at 10.01.41 PM.png

Attachment: Screen Shot 2021-08-10 at 10.01.41 PM.png At first I thought, OK so he's going to redo this and make a proper prototype, maybe he'll show us all. Then I saw the ducted fans and I almost fell out of my chair laughing. You stick to anything long enough and you'll succeed, no matter how bad the original idea is. I hope in 10 years this ends up being a design someone can buy. In the meantime I'm going to get some serious entertainment value watching this guy trip himself into a working aircraft, if he has enough time and money.

I really dig the twin ducted fan design! To save weight of two engines/motors, he should probably power both ducts via a single power plant, a la the Wrights! The weight savings alone should virtually guarantee the promised performance!!!!

This makes his decision to fly to Boise even more bizarre.

Please disregard my last post. This guy is a f$%&$* idiot . What a POS and crummy design. Like someone said early on, VaporWare to use a term from Peter's original profession as a software engineer. That drawing was worked up in a few minutes it looked like to me. Hybrid generator and back up battery, no pressurization,. Better than the Audi engine performance wise, what the f does that even mean, the Audi engine didn't do anything he exaggerated that it would. WTF Wouldn't he say look Im putting a Walter in this, and we are going to redesign some things that we knew didn't work on the original. This is all BS>

Just reconfigured a little to use a pair of electric ducted fans with a generator and a little back up battery. Simple stuff. He thinks a small motor and battery pack is going to be lighter than the Audi setup. Season 2 is going to be great. He needs to introduce the new cast. Where are polars?

Cant talk about the fan/motor as it is still secret? So secret not even he knows So maybe I am a lousy searcher on the NTSB site. ATSB would have something on a report by now, usually the next day. I gather NTSB are not even filing a pilot report on this for some reason? I get stressed reading this thread, I expected a report with a fatality. Glad that did not happen, only corn damage. The world is a safer place for now at least.

This would be a great reality TV show (this week, on Airplane Fiasco, Home Depot is out of the parts he needs, but Lowe’s has some in stock, or do they??). He actually believes he is capable of this, he fails constantly, and he appears credible to the layman. This is as entertaining as watching Patey, but for the opposite reasons.
Tiger King but with airplanes. A documentary company could buy the footage afterwards and make something interesting many years from now. “As of this airing, Peter said he has a new idea for an airplane. He has not found any investors yet, but is taking deposits.” (Cut to Peter talking to a small, disinterested group describing his new idea).
