You can clearly hear the crew expletive, had I been in the cockpit you would have heard the throttles slamming against the flight idle stops. ( no jet time here).

I agree Chip. When Mark Wyant’s went up on the market had I been ready, I’d have bought it. Sharp plane and it (the Mustang) does all I need well, except for the 120 mile trip to my mother in laws. I continue to be amazed every time I ride in my friend’s.

Username Protected wrote: are the Mustang and the M2 close enough to compare, or are they in different classes? Very different. M2 is really a 525. Mustang is a 510. Different engine family, type rating, basic design, etc. M2 greatly out performs the Mustang in speed, range, payload. Mustangs have a reputation for difficult starts when cold and high altitude. The PW615F engine just doesn't light off for some reason under those conditions. The only treatment seems to be avoiding those airports or heated hangar for several hours. Not every example is afflicted equally. Mike C.

Payload differences are mission dependent. Full fuel, the Mustang actually has more available payload, but if you back the M2 range to the same as the Mustang, the M2 would have about 200lbs more available. The comparisons are significant, but not huge. As far as different classes, they’re similar.

Well, there is the 2.5x cap ex on the M2 vs the Mustang. That’s a thing too…

Bigger difference than performance would maybe be the "525" cabin vs 510 cabin?

Not knocking the Mustang, though. If I had the money and only needed to fly 3-4 people around, it would be at the top of my list.
