Thanks guys! I think this site has a ton of good information, and that is what keeps me reading. Whether it is Dave and Mark, or Adam F and all of his great stories (I was lurking his editorials back when he was buying his first twin commander) these stories scratch my itch! I come from a very different background than most of the owner operators on here. Im an A&P, and I fly 135. My experiences vary wildly from what I see posted here. I totally enjoy sitting back and reading what all of you guys get to do with your airplanes, and then I try to figure out how to make my millions so I can do the same! Hope this thread keeps going! Joel

I had filed to ETL and planned to fly the localizer. Funny how the mind works (meaning mine!), long way around depends on where your coming from. Since I came from the south east it would have been extra distance for me. I have no clue which direction you came from...sorry Mark!

I would have though that as well. But it bothered me he didn’t say “resume normal speed”. So I asked if that meant I could resume my normal climb speed of 220. He came back very quickly with a “negative sir, you have to be at 250 or greater at ZELAN. Essentially he was waving the prohibition of exceeding 250 knots but not the restriction of being less than 250 knots. It was probably bad phraseology and being used to faster aircraft. Glad I asked.[/quote] Mark, At most other airports you would have been fine to use your normal climb speed when the controller said “Del speed restriction at ZELAN.” But in ATL you still have to comply with the general restriction listed at the top to accelerate to 250 as soon as possible. Edit: Well now I realize Matt M posted the same thing about ten replies ago. Whoops.
