Beyond that definition anything can be a personal jet. Didn't the sultan of Brunei recently buy an Airbus A380 ? Well, there you go. It's his personal jet.

One milestone achieved: FJ33-5A has its TC: http://www.flyingmag.com/faa-certifies- ... a-turbofan2000 lbs of thrust? I don't understand why the SF50 needs so much thrust, and yet still manages a relatively weak 2000 FPM climb. "All FJ33-5A owners are enrolled in the company’s Total Assurance Program (TAP Blue)" Just how many "owners" are there of FJ33-5A? From a Cirrus blog post announcing the engine TC: "We will soon begin our function & reliability testing where our pilots will run approximately 300 hours on the Type Design aircraft." They haven't even started F&R testing yet. Certification by end of the year? I would not bet on it... Plan I received 18 months ago was to build 95 planes this year. Only a month ago did they celebrate flying SN #1. Mike C.

I wondered about that. I read it as "engine program is mandatory / included". Couldn't find any other reference to it in the context of the FJ33-5A, though.

Never been a jet engine on a single before, and the SF50 is essentially the only FJ33 user, so it will be interesting to see what the costs will be. Mike C.

Someone started a new thread on this already, but.... Quote: Cirrus announced Sunday that its Cirrus SF50 personal jet has been type-certified and that deliveries will begin in December. The company made the announcement at a function two days before the National Business Aviation Association Convention in Orlando, Florida. http://www.avweb.com/avwebflash/news/Ci ... A&st=email

Tim Are we really doing this again? Want a jet that can go high? Buy an M2 or Eclipse for 2X the price. Pilatus, TBM, Meridien all cruise in the 20s.
