Ok ok. I will renew. Gesh.

Plus as a member there is an exception so you can use 91.501 for small aircraft and just not multi engine turbine. You know... for timesharing the Float Plane to a fellow Yooper when he is up there.

Will your offer be within the scope of this?

Quote:

The carriage of property (other than mail) on an airplane operated by a person in the furtherance of a business or employment (other than transportation by air) when the carriage is within the scope of, and incidental to, that business or employment and no charge, assessment, or fee is made for the carriage other than those specified in paragraph (d) of this section;

Question for the brain trust...of course I will seek legal counsel. We are in the process of buying another company to add to our business. Can I offer use of the “company jet” to the owners as part of package and stay within Part 91. We would offer them 30 hours a year for say 5 years. It would be turnkey for them. Thoughts?

If you're expensing via 179, be careful with use by a related entity. One of the tax gurus could offer more precise advice.

Agreed. 2682 isn’t a level-off. It’s a turning point in the climb. Turn direct and continue climb to no higher than 7000.

No. It’s not a level off but you still have to recognize it. It takes processing power. Reminds me of a neighborhood that has speed limit signs with of numbers. 22,23, 27 etc. just a bit of an attention grabber.

Every turning IFR departure requires "processing power". If you are flying out of an IFR airport with a diverse departure (no ODP) you have to calculate 400 feet, AFE, if you plan to make a turn.

At least with the subject SID you are provided an altitude. Rounding up to the next 100 feet would be a non-event so far as ATC is concerned.

So why don’t they round it?

Just thinking of possibilities... by giving the minimum altitude that the TERPS criteria allow, it may make the climb from there to the next controlling obstacle a lesser gradient which might make that departure 'work' for a plane with marginal performance where rounding up would increase the subsequent gradient. One thought.

I am an open book. Just hope people get value from the content WE have created together.

My job is not done until Mike C is typed.

I'm gonna go on record now as saying that my money is on no early retirement for you sir.

So many BeechTalkers, so few hours in the night. And your love of burning that midnight oil is too well known for me (any of us I would bet), to buy that you're quitting after Mike.

Well in my defense I spend most of my time in Arizona

Jet Elite.... I thought it was the name of a charter company or company that he leased the jet from?

If it is I missed that -- I've been taking it as "head of the new and very exclusive BT subforum" ;)

Circling back to the 50 hours for 5 years idea, I had some thoughts.

Challenges:
Perception - The actual cost of this for you is more than most people will value it at. This is a $500K+ expense and if the sellers knew this, they'd probably rather have the cash. Seems like you'd be buying $5 bills for $10.

5 years - That's a long time, what would you do if you had a health challenge? Its fun to think about flying them around for the next 5 but painful to think of having to hire somebody else to do it while hoping to get your medical back.

I feel like staying in touch with the sellers after the deal is done is like trying to be friends after a break-up. At some point you are hoping to sell their company for considerably more than you paid for it, I'm not sure I'd want to be flying around with those folks once they figured that out.
