They will be available on the Sun and Fun website or FAA.gov soon.

Checking out build shops for an Evo of my own. First stop was the Lancair hangar where Doug was kind enough to let us test load our bikes in the factory demonstrator to make sure they'd fit through the baggage door. By the time I got to RDD Dave & Mark said you'd left.
I was intrigued by your electric (vs. engine-driven) A/C. If you don't mind my asking, what are the tradeoffs, benefits vs. cost/weight/cg?

I don't know of any disadvantages. I think overall weight is similar. I don't remember there being much cost difference either but it's been a while ago since I discussed that with Mark.
It shifts CG aft a touch which since I'm using the -42 is a good thing. You can turn on the A/C on the ground without starting the motor. The compressor on the electric system is larger and thus less likely to fail. It only runs at ~50% where as the other style runs at nearly 90% all the time. Also cleans up the Engine compartment and has less hoses running through the firewall. Those are the advantages that come to mind ATM.

Curious about the flight test program, how long will that take and are you doing it or have you got someone lined up to wring it out for you? they quoted me $15,000 for that portion of the build, ouch....i'd rather pay a fraction of that and be involved somehow, i figure it's only 3000-4000 in gas, right? $12k to pay you to fly my new 1.5m+ airplane? agh

RDD has a test pilot that does all of the flying, which is included in the price of the build... at least I think it is. I haven't heard anything from them about added cost beyond what I'd paid.

They talked as if they might do first flight today (Friday) but I didn't hear anything about it so I'm not sure they reached that point today.

Probably would be closer to $6,000-$7,000 in fuel. Fuel burn will be up since you won't just be flying high and efficient all the time. 40 hours is quite a bit to do.

I was looking back over the photos I had recently added and realized I forgot to add one thing. Here is a pic of part of the overhead inside the cabin. Attachment: IMG_20160222_084116567.jpg

Hello Gerry This question may have been asked in the preceding pages , sorry to ask again in that case. If a person wanted to duplicate what you have , what would it cost ? If I am being too nosey my apologies.
