Is the wind being knocked off the sails? I've noticed the same. Several planes just sitting with prices that a year ago would have been very quick to sell.

Same planes have been sitting in the trades unchanged for several weeks.
The only new one I saw was priced aggressively for sale, and sold in a couple days.

Having said that, some airframes are still really hard to buy, we've been shopping for a CJ3... nada. Also a Phenom 300... nada. A couple of B200 clients as well... nada. With the 100% depreciation renewed in the latest Bill, I expect a feeding frenzy going into the end of the year.

So far we haven't seen a feeding frenzy, but things are flowing right now and once the built up a supply from the summer slowdown is gone, scarcity will likely cause the feeding frenzy!

Seems like any weak consumer sentiment that exists is far, far below the "jet buying" level. It's roughly the same, there does seem to be less impulsiveness, I think that is simply because the concept of bonus depreciation has been around long enough that the sugar high is gone. There's also a fair number of stories of people who bought an airplane out of tax motivated desperation and made huge mistakes. It seems overall that most buyers are more careful now, I think this is one reason that highly desirable airframes are hotter than ever, but many other markets are soft.

There is also no sunset this time, so CFO's don't necessarily feel like they need to make purchases now to take advantage. Some with unusually high taxable profits might, but overall I am getting a sense of more caution about timing and earnings management.

For the first time in our ten year history, by early next week, we will have five airplanes in prebuy at one time.
This has been a crazy 4th quarter!
Five of the five are airplanes we were very fortunate to find. There is effectively ZERO inventory in these markets.
G1000NXi King Air B200 - that market is crazy, no nice airplanes to buy!
Citation CJ3+… there are none! Not one you can buy today, even for $10M!
Low time Fusion King Air 350i… maybe one left after four went under contract over the last few weeks.
Citation Mustang… bread and butter for us, but we didn’t think we were going to find one to close before year end! We did the visual yesterday, working on purchase agreement today, will move it Saturday and Sam will be at the service center to put into prebuy on Monday.
TBM-910… they are rare, so we knew it wouldn’t be easy! It didn’t have to close before year end, but it will!

Really depends on airframe age, total time, mods and cosmetics. That's what makes the King Air market so treacherous for a buyer, it is really easy to overpay by hundreds of thousands of dollars because the market is so complicated. You can have a $250k swing in value just based on Raisbeck mods. The value can swing nearly a million dollars based on engine times.
The bottom of the market is probably real low $2M's, for a early 1980's airplane with -61's and G1000NXi.
A later model, something in the 2000 - 2007 B200, with reasonable total time, you'll be in the upper end of the $3M's maybe low $4M's for something nice with low time motors. That's the top of the prices those airplanes will bring, because you're getting into 250 money!
