I have experienced so much ice I couldn’t maintain 180 AND climb, I’ve also had enough ice to drop below 180Kts but this was 240-280. When airspeed starts dropping off it’s a good indication you want to blow the boots or accept the decent. I fly a -6 short body. I’ve also flown a -10 short body and it was more powerful up high same on the ground to 10k from my experience.

No particular difficulty. The flat main wing means you aren't fighting a dihedral effect with the wind. The plane lands pretty fast, ~100 knots, so the angle of wind is not that big. The MU2 handles crosswind better than my Citation. The AFM often has credibility gaps between what it says and what the plane actually does. BTW, my MU-2B-26 AFM does NOT have the crosswind numbers as limitations (and are not listed in the airspeed limitations section), but are listed as "demonstrated". From what I've seen the hot and high performance numbers are less than stellar. I'd like to look at the performance charts to see how bad it really is. I have a Marquise manual, but I'd like to see the Solitaire numbers. I have a Solitaire manual. What do you need?

I had a good push here but fun to have the tools to still do a true XC. Landed with 94 gallons. Block fuel burn was 58 gph.
Best part is the suggested fix en route to clear some airspace was "MTSUI" Fresno to Chuck, nonstop, love it!

The only downside is that people hate the noise when the MU2 taxis in.
They are freakin LOUD. Ridiculously LOUD. Louder than old Stage II jets.
