Awesome Arlen. I think a RV is somewhere in my future too. I have been looking at them for years.

This one is 160 KTAS at 8000 feet on about 8.5 gallons. Reportedly flies very smoothly LOP.

It'll do 167 on 10.5 gallons.

Go practice on grass. Much more forgiving when learning tailwheel.

Electronic ignition? Is it carbed (it seemed to have a carb heat knob on the panel)...?

Wise choice, Arlen, and that looks like a nice one. Insurance companies tend to favor RV's over other homebuilts because they're made out of metal, they have conventional construction, and they are easy to repair with good parts availability. I think the tailwheel ones look really cool. Congratulations!

God only said I couldn't covet my neighbor's wife. He said nothing about his airplane.

I'm coveting...

Congrats Arlen - what a great looking panel and a nice bird.

1650 GW
1070 EW
full fuel 36 gallons = 216 lbs
Me = 160 lbs

That leaves about 200 lbs for passenger and stuff...

Congrats Arlen!!

I think that will fit in the back of an A36 :D

Curious when buying a experimental how do you determine the build quality? Do you have a prebuy by a RV guru?

Was kind of wondering what you were doing when I saw your Deb in Curtis's hangar getting ready for sale, but this plane will be a whole lot of fun.

Beautiful aircraft.

Yes. You need to be careful about build quality...

There is a network of RV "gurus" -- kind of like the McCrackens of the RV world -- willing to go and do pre-purchase inspections. I found an A&P/IA that was nearby and currently is flying an RV-4 that he built; he did the pre-buy for me....
