Are we talking C or F? Pretty close to same as C & F meet up at about -40. We were -40 last month coming home from Vancouver Island, BC at FL200. It was really cool as the 414 was leaving contrails!

Are we talking C or F? At -40, it doesn't matter if we're talking C or F! Did you read the thread?

I see -50 at FL280 in the winter. That would be -47 C. The primary differences between Jet A and Jet A-1 are the higher freezing point of Jet A (−40 °C (−40 °F) vs. −47 °C (−53 °F) for Jet A-1), and the mandatory addition of an anti-static additive to Jet A-1. Are we talking C or F?

Really? Then why am I adding prist? JetA1 will have acceptable liquidity and so forth at -47C. However, any water in the fuel, which in theory (i.e. the JetA1 spec) isn't there but in practice often is, will freeze well before the -47C mark. Which is what the PRIST does - keep the entrained water from condensing and freezing.
Many jets (and not many turboprops for reasons not clear to me) have a fuel heating system that guarantees the water in the fuel won't freeze and clog filters, so they don't need PRIST.
