Wow, would like to have one of those as well. Can you give us any tips on how you handle it on the home front (SO)? Does a guy just do it and see if "papers" drop via certified mail from her lawyer? Do you like, beg? Do you just hide it?

How do we get the second airplane deal done?

I don't know about Alejandro but my wife always says "the boys tell me we have a new airplane!" and then she just cracks up...

I owned a couple J3's with 85 HP. One a Reed Clipped wing.

Believe it or not, I checked people out and rented the planes for solo... to the ones I checked out.
Insurance wasn't that bad then.

Got over 1200 hours rental in one.
Winter season were very slow but summers made up for it!

Best fun I ever had as an Instructor.

Fresh private pilots smiled at me when when I told them it would take 3-5 hours for a checkout. Most fess'ed up my BS turned out to be true!

Cubs are easy to fly, but not so easy to fly well.

Learn to balance the plane on one main wheel during landing, and you will be able to handle any wind the plane can.
And even more...

You will be surprised howthe skills transfer to all other planes you fly.
I laughed when a friend asked me if I be willing to give one of his corporate Citation pilots some training in the Company's J3!

Congrats dude~!
A "real" pilot now, huh?

If the plane comes through KDVT I will buy your ferry pilot lunch.
He can stuff it in our hangar if needed.

Ha! Yes that's a really long flight at that speed and range.

Nope - just costs. Don't get me wrong, it'd be the trip of a lifetime - I just can't check out for a week or two.

A friend of mine bought a J3 in Chicago and flew it back to Seattle. There were times when trucks were passing him on the freeway.
