Chris..... well said.... flying too fast on approach is just plain sloppy technique..... and can become very dangerous is short field/obstacle situations. Like my bo instructor said: "learn the CORRECT speeds, not what all the other pilots tell you the correct speeds are.... even if they are long time bonanza pilots....... most of them fly once a month out of 4000 foot runways".
Harsh, but observed many many times at my own field.
