For some reason I keep looking at these. Anyone have any more experience with them over the last few years?

They seem to be the next step up from the bonanza for those of us not old on a second power plant.

I just spoke to the U.S. distributor again this afternoon. Apparently, a Chinese company has bought the airframe from Extra. That, and the fact that while the airframe has been certified the FIKI and IFR certs aren't done mean that no one knows if, or when, the plane will be built. The price a year ago was $1.795 million so also no telling what it will be ultimately.

This plane fascinates me. It seems like the best step up for a bonanza owner. The issues I see are the certs you mention, and the pice feels a bit steep for the speed. It is certainly the most flexible in terms of loading and range.
