Well that’s embarrassing, but it does appear emergency egress is easy.

I wonder if the MOSAIC announcement factors into the future of this aircraft. Granted it has a very low price point for a new factory built aircraft.

100 MPH, 750 ROC, 740 GW, all on just on 42HP! Tested in the Rockies to boot. Mighty impressive. Jim Bede would've been jealous.
I want one. Beautiful design. I hope it comes with a can of Flitz!
George And somebody else to apply it!!!!!!

I thought 1320 lbs was a result of EASA ultralight 600 kg (600 x 2.2 = 1320), thus "proven acceptable and easier to copy"
Then again, I don't know if any EASA ultralight have higher gross for amphibians or exemptions like the Icon A5[/quote]
Jim the EASA max weight for two place was 390kg in 1989, raised to 450 kg in 1999 = 900 lbs. and 472.5 kg 1042 lbs with a ballistic chute. It was not increased to 1320 lbs or 600kg until 2021. But in 2005/2006 when the Sport Pilot rule was moving into place we had the 1320 lb gross here first.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8U7I_lqJnFgSE1 taxi, takeoff and landing from Ultralight runway at Airventure. This is where it ended up on its nose at the end. Very low speed and I think little damage. It would be interesting to see what they need to do. The prop looks to have a removable hub on the crank in other photos. I think he made the right choice. Intentional ground loop could work but to the left is towards the crowd and to the right is into other obstacles. Not sure if the tailwheel full swivels. Clean and floated on landing. If I remember right the runway is downhill in this direction also. Too far down to go around and to overshoot puts you into the tram lanes and parking.

I'm curious how their sales look after a week at Oshkosh. It looks like they have about 20 or so aircraft they could potentially deliver by end of the year. I wonder if they had any takers.

I checked this out today at EAA and it's pretty neat. All solid rivets, not pop rivets like most LSA's. Appears to be well designed. Motor is based off a Harley motor (apparently they hired an ex Harley engineer). The fit and finish was pretty good.
They had a picture of their factory floor and if it wasn't photoshopped then there are about 30 more completed airframes coming down the line. Quite honestly it was stunning to see that picture. They are obviously well capitalized!

Sublime looking little airplane. I wouldn't be seen flying a Sonex let alone owning one, but a nice art deco racer-esque fliver?
Sign me up got tyhe 6'4" version.
My guess is you're allowed to solo it when you pay for it.
