Any game of chance where the government is entitled to grossly more of the reward than you are to play, and you are the only one with skin in the game (cash on the table), is not a game I desire to play. It’s a legalized taxation scheme where one person benefits whilst millions of others are the financiers.

No thanks. :hammer:

I'm right there with you. But it's a fun exercise to think about your aircraft collection. Come on and play!

Pay off the mortgage.

Throw $20 mil in the bank

Put $1 mil each in a trust fund for my niece and nephew.

Give the rest to the ASPCA. Fly Angel Flights in the PC-12. Bid widebody F/O.

I don't need someone to sell me dreams...

I have enough imagination to dream on my own. It's fun. I do it all the time.

And If I really want something... I go and work for it. ( what a concept)

And in my dreams, I have a Pilatus sitting in my front porch, Travolta style...

Would build a giant hangar at home drome with a glass office on second floor to look at current plane plus the Falcon and Cessna 185 I just bought w my winnings. The hangar door would be glass so I could see all the cool planes pulling up to my new FBO I opened which will have a real espresso bar, captive maintenance and reasonable fuel prices. In the distance I would see the fleet of Kodiaks I would purchase that would be running JSX style service around CO WY NM and UT. I would also be able to see the roof of the new Piaggio factory which I would build after buying the rights to the airframe from them and started producing them in the US. Framed next to my new desk would be the WSJ article about how a power all winner is buying up small aviation businesses around the country.

I like your style.
I insist you name the holding company: Small Fortune Aviation Holdings

I realize I started this thread... but the comments here call for one of my favorite quotes:

"The darkest hour in any man's life is when he sits down to plan how to get money without earning it."

Horace Greeley

So all in went from 375M to 469M
I'm 60... assume I live to 100 that's an additional 2.3M a year... it might actually be enough
to add some kind of gulfstream, with crew etc... to the fleet....
Then again in 40 years 2.3M might just buy a cup of coffee....
In addition to airplanes, my list also includes a really large shop full of new machine tools...

Carbon cub, Extra LT, M600, M2, maybe a P300. A Denali if it ever gets certified. Anything else I would just charter as needed.

Bought a ticket for the first time in 5 years or so. Sure I understand the odds but it's hard to find that much entertainment for $2.

The fun would be in setting up and running a charity of that size. Lots of worthy people out there where you could change lives for the better. I don't think it would really change what my wife and I plan to do with the rest of our lives as we're already heading to retirement in the next three months.

However, if I must for the good of the community.

A T-34C to take me back to the days @ Navy Pensacola when I thought it was a complicated plane.

An A-36 that I would then get someone to engineer a left side door and a few other things and create the STC's and give them away for free. I'd have to get two A-36s to cover the downtime during dev though!

NetJets would take care of all long distance travel!

If I didn’t win it, I’d want you to!

No winner. Now $1.5 billion. So I'm guessing about $500 million lump sum after taxes.

Does that extra $150 million change anyone's list? :D

I might spring for the XI version the Garmin 650 for the Skipper.

Or heck, I might just purchase the whole Musketeer line from Textron and and call the company "Beachcraft" and name the various models after famous beaches.

Best,
Rich

How do you figure? In NYC, which is probably the worst place to win, my math shows about 580 million net lump sum.

First, I would buy out Signature and other high fee FBOs then return General Aviation to the people.

Second, I would treat N52AU (my Bonanza) to a tip to tail renewal.

Third, I would get a couple trainers for my local airport to use to help develop new pilots and A&Ps.

Donate a bunch to PTSD research and treatment.

Maybe get a PC-12 after I retire.

Build a varieze.

Like the saying goes; I blew my fortune on airplanes, the rest I wasted. $375 Million doesn't go as far as it used to.

I don't play often... figure the odds of finding the winning ticket are only slightly worse than the odds of buying the winning ticket. I'm probably wrong mathematically but not by much.

Forgot to buy a ticket for the last drawing.
