ABS magazine has a '68 36 with dual gps and amazing number of improvements including 550 with an asking price of $120. (It apparently was an ABS cover plane) Having owned an archer and now on my second A36, I would suffer the upfront and enjoy the efficiency and quality of a Bo. It can be done within the price parameters.

As Larry Olsen says, " i will live in poverty so I can fly in style!"

The big Pipers are the best for a true 6-palce airplane - nose baggage, good useful load, hard to load out of CG, and adequate power with the big Lycoming. The Cherokee 6 - 300 is especially capable if you are not in a hurry. The turbo Saratoga is my favorite.

I like the Lance. What's so bad about it compared to the A36 if the Lance is 155kts airplane? Is the gear a problem on the Lance? I like how simple it is on my BO. Can I expect more maintence with a Lance?

The lance is a sturdy farm girl with birthing hips. The A36 is a leggy blonde.

There is exacly -zero- wrong with a lance. Bonanza guys don't like the way it looks, don't like the way it feels, don't like the less elegant but equally functional bits and pieces. But in terms of actual function, safety and maintainability they are interchangeable.

Yes, only four, but the fifth and sixth are obtainable.
Some of those had jump seats that can be removed. Not uncomfortable for kids.
For the price he can add a used waas GPS and the jump seats and still be way under budget.
My family without me flew from Georgia to California and back in a six seater. The four kids were ages 7 to 14. No one complained.

I looked at it too, but in that price range, he has a lot of competition with panels that completely blow his away. Most at $120k are going to have 430/530Ws at least, lots of upgrades and so on.

He said he was willing to deal. I'd personally lean toward a straight tail NA.

I am also looking at a straight tail so its not really what I'm interested in. I'd really prefer a Toga, but they seem to command a 20% premium over the straight wing birds.

And I don't know why. They are heavier and don't go any faster.
Having the two-tank layout is a nice feature, but I believe that I available in the later six models.

Look at a cessna 205 also

Priced like 182's. Hauls like a 206. With full fuel, I can put another 1,047# in the cabin.

What's the difference between the C205 and 206?
