That should tell you something right there.

PC-12 is a faster Caravan.

So what? I'd take a Caravan on floats in a second. Caravan is a multi million $$$ airplane.

Fact remains that SETP are dominating the market and the category will continue to grow.

It does. Brand new caravan is about 2.5. Brand new PC12 is about 5. Caravan's are great for short hops (less than 400 miles). Boxes don't mind not being pressurized.

The PC12 is not being used to haul stuff, it's being used in corporate flight departments, corporate charter and would you believe.....owner flown aircraft.

Not if you define the market as corporate flight department or owner flown.

These are the jets that EACH had more unit deliveries than PC-12 in 2014:

Bombardier Global 5000/6000
Embraer Phenom 300
Gulfstream 450/550/650

The list of jets that had more $$$$ deliveries is extensive, dozens.

In 2014, $24.5B GA aircraft shipments, Pilatus was $318M, or 1.3%. Not exactly "domination".

l found more often it was the TP's fairing better with winds if they stay somewhat below their optimum altitudes for performance. Rather than the light jets at 410.
But a bit higher and then the winds start to ease. And above 450 they get down to the speeds I see at FL 200.

And it is a much lesser impact when a TP is held down (ATC) at lower altitudes. The people I know flying the light jets have been put lower so far out, it greatly impacts their fuel planning. Still jets are so cool.

Does that include their military shipments?

Pilatus can only build 50 a year. That's why they're expensive. Demand far outstrips supply.

It doesn't matter who sold more THIS YEAR. What matters is how many are being used.

Most PC12's are not owner flown. Several I hangar with are flown by 2 uniformed pilots.

+1

I've flown VFR at 16.5 to Denver many times because it was faster than being up in the jet stream,.

No.

http://gama.aero/files/2014GAMAShipment ... 312015.pdf

"Military aircraft shipments are not included in shipment table totals"

So that's why they are building a jet, because they can't figure out how to build more than 50 turboprops a year.

If you believe that, may I interest you in some hydrologically active real estate in Southern Florida?

Also 17 TBMs flying at 1030 this morning.

I see a lot of PC12 flying charter and cargo in Canada, its the new faster Caravan.
Its the do anything aircraft that gets in and out of small gravel airstrips up north.
RCMP is running about 10 all over Canada.

Did you not say:

"Yeah. So? How many jets and turboprops are flying around VFR?"

Mixed messages.

The jet comes with a 100+ knot tailwind to start with compared to a PC-12.

Good luck with VFR at low altitude for 1000+ nm. Rare to fly VFR over that much distance and not have to cheat.

LOL. You're really reaching here Mike. Why are so always so passionate about bashing SETP?

I could sell my 2008 PC12NG for more than I paid for it at the end of 2012. This is because demand is much higher than supply.

I also think it's telling that you're comparing the PC12 to Jets that sell for $9MM to $60MM.

You can't deny the facts. Flight aware 10:30 am:

72 C208 Cessna Caravan
54 BE20 Beechcraft Super King Air 200
54 PC12 Pilatus PC-12
43 SR22 Cirrus SR-22
37 C56X Cessna Citation Excel
17 E55P Embraer Phenom 300
7 GLF5 Gulfstream Aerospace Gulfstream V
4 GL5T Bombardier Global 5000

I guess next you're going to tell me that there are a lot of G5's, Globals and Phenom 300's flying around VFR. LOL
