I believe the FAA reserves N1 through N99 as their two digit numbers.

In the seventies, and probably still there, US Sugar had the number N1US. When personal numbers were unusual, it got unusually good service in the DC area.

Edit: it is apparently reserved, or held....not assigned.

At Oshkosh some years back, there was a Grumman Goose with tail number N6005E.

And now a real one. The RV6 that belongs to a former Navy Flight Surgeon friend of mine.

It's also powered by a Mazda rotary engine, but that's another story.
