I believe the FAA reserves N1 through N99 as their two digit numbers.

In the seventies, and probably still there, US Sugar had the number N1US. When personal numbers were unusual, it got unusually good service in the DC area.

Edit: it is apparently reserved, or held....not assigned.

At Oshkosh some years back, there was a Grumman Goose with tail number N6005E.

Nice. Looking at some of these N-numbers, it doesn't look like they're subjected to the same level of scrutiny as vanity license plates are.

Ya Herr Hartmann. Although I am primarily Deutsch I can't say I wear my Softie Lederhosen for flights other than in my Pitts.

The current owner of that plane is a member of BT and also owns a 58 Baron.
