So consider this a provisional congratulatory statement, subject to a probationary period and photograph review before final issuance. Tony, I'm with you there! (Still wondered what the great excitement was for whoever it was) But, Alex, congrats....whether your getting your dream CJ or your dream c150, it all about the love of flight and the mission. Have a blast, Alex!

And if you read the threads on the Citation Pilots Forum, there are occasional issues with the FADEC whereas bringing the power up manually to the target N1 is not that big of an issue. I have flown both FADEC and non-FADEC Williams powered Citations and will take the FADECs any day. You will have more problems with the paddles on your engines then I have with my FADECs.

Well, Allen, you're probably right.... But, it is a compromise I'll have to live with - and just be careful not to exceed the N1 limits.

Holy crap. MY wallet said ouch and I'm not even looking at jets...
That said, HUGE congrats Alex. That's about as exciting as it gets. How long are you going to have to wait for her? Can you speak a bit about your plans for training / transition?

Can you speak a bit about your plans for training / transition? 2-3 month wait - but that's ok. As Aristotle said: patience is bitter, but the fruit is sweet. For training, the option I am leaning towards is Simcom in Orlando. I checked with FSI in San Antonio (my preference), but they are booked up when I have time to attend. Simcom has a Class D simulator and I can take my TR check ride on it. For SP ops, the insurance company is asking me to fly with our company pilot for 15 hours, although I will probably do more like 50-100 as I get comfortable with the speeds/structure/procedures/flows, etc. Our company pilot is an ex-airline captain with 19K hours under his belt in all kinds of jets - big and small.
