Now that we have almost a year of TBM 900 experience, what are the real world airspeeds/fuel flows? We know what marketing says, but what's the experience of those that are strapped into one? If you make it go the advertised speed, what's the burn? How much fuel can you bring along if you put 4 std peeps in it with 100#s of luggage?

I've got quite a bit of envy for this airplane. Curious of what the norms are?

POH # are very realistic. Im hearing 325-327 At FL280, ISA temps. 64 gph.
Useful load with full fuel is around 820 ibs, so no problem getting max range with full fuel with 4 and 100 ibs of luggage.

Sheesh. That is within 10% fuel cost/NM in cruise of the Baron, while going 140kts faster with a much larger cabin.

Yep thats the diff baron vs TBM, Plus price delta.

Legacy 850 297-308 KTS, FL 27-28, FF is 53-58 GPH in cruise depending on temps/wt.
We flight plan 61.5-63 GPH for a 1.5-3 hour flight all in. We have flown 1100nm with power pulled back, flt time 4:36 and landed with 62 gallons, big headwind. 281 useable. Saved a fuel stop. Amazing versatility.

As Marc says it is built like a tank vs the Meridian. TBM is a French trainer, goes through he-- with their air force and keeps on plugging. Love ours.

TBM is a Ferrari
Pilatus an SUV

Both great, different missions.

I hate car analogies. They're not accurate at all. My Ferrari is MUCH faster than my SUV and hauls MUCH less.

TBM is just a smaller Pilatus and therefore faster. I think they have the same range. I cruise 270. TBM 850's don't cruise much faster than that do they? 20 knots or less maybe?

If you don't need the larger cabin and the lav get the TBM. Makes sense to me.

A bit faster than that. I demoed one two years ago. I recall fairly consistent 315 from FL26 all the way to FL310 so about 40knots faster than a PC12NG.
