Latest problem resolved.

“A pulsing sound from a speaker in Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft heard by NASA astronaut Butch Wilmore aboard the International Space Station has stopped. The feedback from the speaker was the result of an audio configuration between the space station and Starliner,” NASA’s Commercial Crew program wrote Monday on X, formerly Twitter. “The space station audio system is complex, allowing multiple spacecraft and modules to be interconnected, and it is common to experience noise and feedback.”

that's a shame, the landing in the desert hopefully could have been filmed if it were in daylight

Press Conference / News release on a Saturday afternoon.
Starliner return the middle of a Friday night..

I’m certain it’s all orbital mechanics but those are also good times to limit scrutiny.
Friday News Dump I think they call it?

I’m sure it will land just fine.

I think that odds are it will be a largely uneventful return, and I fully expect someone to have thermal imaging and tracking on it from reentry to landing. Will it be flood lit? Maybe not, but I’d expect some decent black and white negative imagery all of the way to the surface.

So far so good.

Am I the only one who finds it amusing that Boeing named this Starliner “Calypso”?

You know, Calypso, the Greek Nymph who kept Odysseus trapped on her island until the gods pressured her to release him?

NASA had a live stream on YouTube. I’m sure there were others. Give it a few minutes and you can probably pull up a replay. Spoiler alert: it was a yawner. Everything went as planned.

The re-entry is scheduled for midnight EDT / 0400 Z. Put “Starliner” in the YouTube search box and it should give you a few options. Be sure to look for a live feed.

Well, I'm glad it didn't create an open door on the Space Station. :woot:
