You’re right Mark, I got confused. Your daughter is about the same as me in the Mustang. I too find it like a 172 except a little faster. I am confident enough in it now that I could get it on the ground in an IFE if needed but I would NOT be picking a 4000’ runway yet. My friend typically files for 330 at FL330-380 depending on direction and winds but I’ve seen #s much higher and lower depending on winds. It’s clearly higher fuel burn than a small twin but when you factor twin jets, the increased speed, and pressurization, it really is a game changer to me for small family/group travel.
I jokingly told my wife we could afford to operate one if she would work just a little bit harder.

Did you upgrade to NXi yet? It looks like the fleet is about 60% updated from looking on controller now.

Yes on NXI. Also Gogo WiFi and the Midcontinent SAM

Thanks Mark! The monthly is better than I expected and the install is spendy as I assumed it would be. If you keep it forever, that's one thing but I would assume you'd get only a fraction of that install cost back if you sold your bird someday. What's your guess, maybe 40-50%?

I have used their older 3G system and it works very well, almost like being at home. Only exception is streaming Netflix, etc. You can load ForeFlight NEXRAD, etc. and I barely notice I'm not on my home WiFi. I don't remember doing a speed test, but I would guess at least 3MBps with pretty low latency and high reliability. I suspect SD streaming would work unless they block it, but never tried (easy enough to load on the ground).

We forget that 3G or LTE on the ground is never close to what those technologies are actually capable of, due to congestion, signal strength with buildings in the way, spectrum, backhaul, etc. When those problems are solved they are great. No 5G needed.

If you did not order 0-60 in under 2 seconds, you made a serious mistake.

Mark, seriously amend that order and go the plaid. It’s so much fun. Penman is right.

The ISA makes sense. Piaggio is pretty sensitive to it above fl360, below it’s less noticeable.

The NXI upgrade looks nice. I am holding out for spaceX starlink for internet, but the Gogo speed in your video is better than expected.

I hope my daughter can fly me around someday. Figure once kids are 18, a throw away two pilot jet will enter the fleet for family trips.
