If he had an actual plan he would also realize he needs accurate air data. Without accurate airspeed and altitude, then very little of the data he collects will be of any use.

Given how much time he wasted with "high speed taxi" runs, I'd be surprised if he didn't spend the next month or two making short hops above the runway.
