Looks like a fairly nice day today...5 knots, pretty much down the runway. The calm after the storm. Attachment: Screen Shot 2020-09-18 at 10.13.37 AM.png

With the hurricane nearby I’m guessing that it’s too windy/rainy/cloudy and he’s just hunkered down, maybe epoxying some other heavy component into the airframe. Tomorrow should be a good day, high on the 70s. The apt is going to call me if he rolls it out.

He release another video. Ground effect once again. Once again natural bank to the right. Who would have guess 37 lbs added to the left wound to have fixed it? He got him a helmet now. It sounds like he’s going to do another ground effect test. After that, it’s gateway to bad decision time. Fly it or get a test pilot.

Well, wait, he still has that vexing roll to the right. The carefully calculated weight didn’t change it, that means it’s something more serious right? Surely he has to resolve that first?

All sorts of odd things...METARs showed light and variable winds most of the day, but " it was a gusty 5 knots!". Then he did all that rigamarole putting lead weight in the wingtip to then just run an imbalanced fuel load by about 18# or so anyway. Still seems like some odd stuff with the brakes too, that right wheel really chirps when it comes back down - although Wasabi did call out that it was difficult to use the rudders without triggering the brakes...he was having to use the very front toe of his boot vs placing his feet actually on the rudder pedals. He still hasn't rigged up a working pitot-static, either. I think I'd be putting more effort into that static port than the mystery weight imbalance. Would be interesting to see his control inputs vs what the elevators are doing, too, but he doesn't show the cockpit view... And that main gear has more wiggle than Shakira. Glad he got a helmet. Wonder how the comment section that mocked Wasabi for their helmets is going to reconcile that.

This ground effect testing isn’t going anywhere either. It’s not going to fly any better after the 40th ground effect run than the last. If you’re going to fly it, then fly it, if not then hire a pro. But John..... he moved the Bose headset mic to the helmet and fixed the impedance problem. "Come on man."

Yes, and cleverly he put the mic on the left side to help correct the imbalance issue.
