Yeah, I should have posted it in green, but I hoped the stuff the pot icon world be enough.

There’s only two kinds of airplane partnerships , really good ones... and lawsuits.

Most people would think it was just off the factory floor, brand new. I'm not sure why he didn't go with Garmin, it's got some new Collins upgrade but apparently it's RNAV, LPV and ADSB out. two pilots but the owner (my age, early 40ish but a non pilot). told me the insurance difference makes it a wash. Seems like a heck of an airplane for 1.2m. The C650 is a great airplane. Big, comfy, stand up cabin, fast. It sounds like he has it covered past 2020 and with the engine and airframe plans, his liability is limited. But, they do have a bad habit of breaking often. With good mx, he will hopefully be able to get reasonable dispatch reliability.

if I compare block times at 150 hours per year, I'm still way behind in the jet since I have to spend 2-3 days in the sim. Simcom on the PC12 can be done in two days. Frankly, its a good time to brush up on the systems, etc. If sim training isn't your thing, you can also do in-airplane recurrent at your home airport.
Training does take time but I balance it with in aircraft and sim training. I just completed a 4 day recurrent from FSI. It’s too long in my opinion, but they have the best PC12 sim and the best PC12 instructor is head of the program. Every other year I switch between sim training and bringing a PC12 instructor to my location to train in the airplane which can be completed in 2 days. There are benefits to both types of training but training in aircraft is usually results in the lowest time commitment.

The 650 is a ground lover; fast though and a nice flying airplane.

Granted $1.2MM is very little money for such performance but when he's done with it I wonder who would be willing to buy it?

Someone who would pay maybe somewhat less for the same performance. I'm sure we can find comments 10 years ago that suggested those kind of planes would not sell today, and yet there are buyers for them. The planes that hold value are the ones that deliver value. That is often tied to the support the planes get and Citations are very well supported. Mike C.

https://www.globalair.com/aircraft-for-sale/ListingDetail/Citation-III?AdId=82620. Asking $425,000. I am sure you can beat them down into the low 3s. MSP & Proparts. At that price it can be disposable after 500 - 1000 hours.

If he is paying his co-pilot $5k or less a year that might be true There just isn't really any scenario where the expense of the second pilot will be less or equal to any lower insurance costs operating crew (versus SP for those aircraft so type certificated). I get this question all the time from buyers of single-pilot type cert jets - whereby the buyer thinks the lower insurance cost operating two-crew is going to pay the salary of his co-pilot. It won't really even pay the recurrent training invoice for his SIC let alone his annual salary. The two-crew operation mainly affords better/higher liability limits in some cases and yes a slightly reduced annual premium.

I wonder if this guy recognizes the what the yearly operating costs are.
I am guessing it would take half his all in costs, 600k every year to fly it.
If not more!
It’s not the purchase price it’s the operating costs that evaporate.
