I don't know much about the SII, but they did do some mods on the wing to reduce turbulence and allow high speed. The S550 uses the 560 wing. Don't know how this would contribute but it almost certainly does.

Well, it allows for lower Vref, about 10 knots slower than 550. That should help, not hurt, landing distances. Yet, the book says longer. Hmm. Mike C.

Don't really like flying in piston aircraft any more. In a NA 310 at 7000 ft, not too much performance left on one engine. Mike C.

I am calling BS on you not liking to fly piston powered planes. You seemed perfectly happy to ride in my Bo to Evansville when your Mits was in the shop.
Still not sure why you asked if the moving map page of my g1k was broken...

Mike would jump at the opportunity to putz around in a C-170. Transport is a different deal altogether.

A couple of years ago I was there with my wife, we'd done a couple of days of hiking and we're heading back to LA to come home one morning. We got up supa early and did the Hike around the MESA of the airport. Low and behold a CJ1 departs just as we are at the walk ar the upwind leg. It was fate. Wife loves seeing the jet departs and agree to the citation purchase. What timing. Andrew.

I would say that flying into that airport in the 310 gets your attention. The hardest part is coming out of KSEZ on a moonless night. Surrounded by mountains but unable to see them. Density altitude of 6500 makes it challenging as well. The 310 certainly doesn't perform as well as the 550. Makes you feel a little exposed.

Well I fly a lowly twin, however Mark I love the video and music as the beautiful views and ability it provides getting to these special spots is the reason I fly... Plus work 80 hours a week in businesses to pay for it but whose counting...............
