He really needs a expert to come and tune that engine. I would not trust his tune giving that he was learning as he went. I have tuned a lot of custom Efi engines and when I think back to my early tunes they were a joke. Haha.
Mike And a diet. The Raptor is a mere 1000# lighter than your 421 with less than half the horsepower.

He should take it to ISO, Kinston North Carolina. Very quiet airport with an 11500ft runway. Very few trees, mostly pastures around the airport. Options galore, although with 11500ft of available runway the chance of an off airport landing is minute.

Anyone know how the contracts worked for the deposits/escrow? Assuming it flies, he's got more than ab bit of work to meet his goals --- what does that mean for the escrows/deposits? Seems like it's currently got 600# useful or so, with roughly twice the takeoff roll. Going off of that, figure climb rate is likely half of expected, and cruise speed will be a lower than promised. Are people locked in for the ride, and hope he sorts it out? Or is there other stipulations other than "it flew" to press on? In this discussion I lost sight of the claim of 3600nm plus range. Might as well just call it a million nm at this point.

The Raptor will have a 3600 nm range!*
*note: Claim based upon single pilot, no luggage. May require over a dozen fuel stops.
