285KTAS to 290KTAS at FL220 5000hr TBO from 3500hr TBO Increased range Shorter takeoff over 50ft obstacle
You guys think Pilatus is being conservative? Is the XP making more power somewhere?
Mentions Wi-Fi in a couple places on their website. Does that mean Pilatus is now installing them or they already have?

Looks like a nice upgrade. I assume the FADEC eliminates the rube goldberg FCU that has been part of a PT-6 since the 60's.

The biggest deal here is the 5000 TBO AND the elimination of the hot section entirely! Per the press release, the hot section is now "on condition". That's a game changer along with a 5,000 hour TBO. Now, if only it had a G3000

Which proves that it was just simple greed and their complete monopoly in the market place that dictated that all along. Never had anything to do with safety whatsoever. I actually find it complete shameful and despicable. Hope GE wipes their asses with their engine.

*I assume "no HSI" and "on condition hots" means the engine gets scoped regularly and thats how the decision to open her up is made? Is any data collection used as part of the decision? Historically, if nothing has materially changed, what is the likelihood of making it 5k without being opened up? (Educate me, please) Just saw this from PWC for their E-Series: https://www.pwc.ca/en/products-and-serv ... gines/pt6eOf note - "Engine data will be sent for trend monitoring and, if required, for troubleshooting." Digital autothrottle & auto-start sound cool, but I think the big difference with the EEC will be the extended maintenance intervals & on-condition items. Either way, awesome airplane.

Nice link. It says the PT6A-67XP makes 10% more power at sealevel. Guess that's how it's climbing up faster and taking off shorter over 50ft.
So the question is, 10% more power at sealevel...does that really only equate 1.7% increase in max TAS (at FL220)? Or we going to see a larger increase of TAS at reduced power or at higher altitudes (eg. FL300)?
