That’s the point poping up announced stresses the system.
You want FF during the busiest time of the day? Don’t get mad when they say no and definitely don’t go off your IFR flight plan to save a few minutes. That's a backpedal.

Why do you feel you shouldn't have to be vectored around VFR traffic on a VMC day simply because you're talking to ATC?

I don’t think all the people in the VFR guys way should be vectored around him.
One airplane can cause problems for many airplanes. That’s my problem.
Blundering across an arrival or departure path can impact hundreds of people so one guy can fly his vfr flight path.

The point is, its not easier for everyone to be in the system (which is what my post was responding to). If it was, they would never say no. You can't be any more clear. I hear controllers turning down VFR-FF all the time...... Case closed IMO.

Every body Popping up unexpected during busy times would be like everyone calling the police at the same time. In my experience controllers do a great job of accommodating FF request.

However, when you get a guy flying right up the downside of a STAR with no clue he's in the way, it screws things up when you have a bunch of jets descending on him at 300+kts. If ATC was talking to the VFR traffic, a simple heading change would fix it.

Come on down to South Florida and try and tell all the VFR traffic to get off the arrival corridor. Good luck. It's a pain in my ass but I'm glad I live in a country where you can just fly around.

They often deny request for FF because they have to load you in the system and keep up with another track, doing so on the fly so to speak. Did your instructor not make you go to the tower and hang out with ATC?
