Go by how it is marketed:
- New
- Less 1000nm
- Shortish fields
- 4 passenger for normal flights, up to 7 for short
- Owner/pilot target market
Basically, the KA90, Meridian, TBM, Mustang and Phenom 100 I believe are the selections.

The fact that it is difficult to understand is what may make it a paradigm shift. Cirrus has successfully marketed an ecosystem around their products and has also been successful at promoting shared ownership. If they were able to convince 160 people to sink 750K for an SR22T in 2014 (the cost of a used [ fill in the blank]), there is a good chance they will be successful selling these to individuals and shared ownership outfits like PlaneSmart. People who buy used airplanes - MU2s, Twin Commanders, pressurized twin Cessna, you name it - may not understand why anyone would spend 750K for a 4-5 seat piston single, let alone 1.5-2M for a SEJ. If they get it certified, I place my bets on the side that it will be successful.

Single engine VLJ, Lol, yes they have the whole market to them.
As for being efficient I dont see it. I dont see the SETP market being crowded, there is only one doing over 300 kts TAS and its the TBM 900 on around 60 gph.

Sure - doing 300 kts on 60 gph and nearly 4M dollars. Personally I'll take a PC12 at that price point. Oh, that's right - there are options in the SETP market! Maybe you're right SEJs are a stupid idea - someone with a track record of selling 5000 airplanes thinks otherwise.

Where did you read $4MM? I'm reading $2.2MM If ti is $4MM you're right. You can get a HondaJet for $4MM.

Socata - the TBM 900 was priced at 3.7M + options in 2014. I asked. And bought a CJ instead.

Tim I'm starting to save up for the beer and tacos... I think I might lose this one! And that's a shame since Kiawah Island seems like a golf course I'd like to visit.
