Florian, don't worry they are saying the same in France for ages!
I suppose that they don't accept the fact that our social security system is so poorly managed, that even if is nobody got sick for a full year, they will manage to loose a few billions

I personally think you need to arrive in Wichita early (oh, maybe around June 4th or 5th) and watch them hand make your plane. This will also assure you of huge welcoming party.
I can't, I have been invited by Tony to a dinner party in St Tropez!

Well, the grass is always greener.......
Technically and humanly speaking our system is not bad but its management is hopeless.
one of the main problem is that it has been designed just after WWII. The parameters are obsolete, there is no way to make it economically viable today.
the medical branch of our Social Security has lost more than 11 billions € last year!

the financial reality of our 100% coverage cost about 20% of the yearly global income of an average French family! when the same should cost about 5/8% if subscribed to a private insurance company.
There is a lot of positive media covering about ''OBAMACARE'' here, I think it has the same design flaw than our SocialSecurity:being managed by civil servants. It will work for a few decades and will end creating the biggest financial hole you have ever seen!

					| Congratulations Jean-Michel. It's a birthday you will never forget. Does your wife have an unmarried sister? My birthday is on the 19th, my friend's is tomorrow and we visit another BT member with a Staggerwing in Abbeville (thanks Jean Philippe). Now THAT would make a nice birthday gift for next year.

					| Tony, here is how you cure that: have some long Red Baron type scarves made out of parachute material. Then tell everyone how you made these from your last parachute pull....... In St Trop, I think most of us mere mortals will fail to be noticed...... It has become the Dubai of the North...... 100 mil net worth is the buy in_________________

					| I got to fly my friend's SR22 with the aftermarket supercharger, (not turbo). The Cirrus and my Be 36 TC seem quite different even if the numbers may be similar. I like the Bonanza better, and am certainly more comfortable with it and at ease in it.

Sr22 good points: Great view out the front, very nice comfortable seats, woudl be good for a long trip. If you like the glass cockpit thing, it sure has that.Control feel and roll rate are good, but it is sensitive in pitch and the electric trim is a pain.
And most of all, the parachute. I think it is a worthwhile and valuable step in "last resort" safety and has been proven many times. It lands ok, but not of course as easy and well as Bonanzas.

Bad points: Most of the great high performance planes have a real stick centered right in front of the pilot. Think of a Cub, Stearman, Chipmunk, Pitts, T-6, P-51, and most homebuilts like RVs etc.
The Cirrus has a mickey mouse side controller that looks like it was designed by some nerd engineer that never sat in or flew a plane. One can fly ok with it, but it is still a weak spot. Reminds me of the car, Renault, that I once drove where the wheel is off center. They say you get used to it, but why make a plane that starts off being a pain in the rear to the pilot. I think it is a case of new and different just to be that way and not an improvement. I'd never buy one just for that stick bull.
I was surprised that it was not really fast, only about 7 knots The Cirrus seems quite a bit noisier than my Bonanza.
For me personally, all the avionics techno whiz stuff is not a bonus, I persoally would llike some real gauges, though I could probably learn to work their stuff.
And frankly I think it is a bit funny looking with the big nose wheel and fairing out in front, it looks a bit like a trainer.
Since it is nowhere near as fast as some Lancairs or even Mooneys I think the fixed gear does hurt their speed somewhat.
Finally, I would have like to have seen the plane tested and met normal stall and spin recovery FAA specs, and then have the added parachute, rather than the chute be to some extent a crutch.

Comparing the two planes might be a bit like comparing driving a Corvette to a Porsche, it is feel, not just the numbers.
