Quote: Cessna does wet wings pretty well and I'm happy with mine Not in my experience. In 7 years/1000 hours of owning the 425 I've probably spent > $15k fixing wet wing fuel leaks and almost all of them were related to rivets or hyloks working and then the proseal develops a leak. It's incredibly labor intensive to fix because you can't just layer on more sealant. You have to remove the old sealant with special tools, fix the root cause, clean and prep, and then add new sealant. The shop where my plane is maintained almost always has a citation in for a fuel leak at any given time, even newer models being fixed under warranty. They are so prevalent that the local Textron service center in Sacramento can't keep up so they contract out fuel tank leak repair to an outside vendor. https://www.swat-aircraft.com This company survives entirely on fixing wet wing leaks on turbine aircraft. Mike, I sincerely hope you get lucky and don't have to fight leaks but the odds aren't in your favor.
