Is there something more to that? It is an end run to replace the wing attachment hardware without saying so? Xray? I don't think so. It's pretty straight forward from what I've seen in the shop though I'm no expert. It's not mandatory for part 91. It takes a week. I think it costs about $10K.

Yes, but what if the jet closed as many doors as it opened due to runway requirements? I've never heard of that being a legit problem.

Understand CJ3/P300 runway numbers are BFL - accelerate-go/accelerate-stop - with engine failure at V1. Actual pavement used with all engines operating will be a lot less. If you choose to operate it contrary to the AFM, with a risk profile equivalent to the PC12, you can operate out of much shorter pavement.
You are not comparing apples to apples with Part 23 takeoff performance vs. Part 25 takeoff performance.

Yes, at 1,000 lbs below gross and temp below about 80F.
CJ3 carries around 4700 lbs of fuel. You can get around 1000 nm with 3500 lbs of fuel to your first fuel stop.

Flew all the way back to Atlanta non stop.... 2000NM 1000Lbs under gross in the CJ3 defeats the purpose for using the airport.. Now you gotta stop for gas.

Hi Jason- This has been an entertaining and educational topic. Your statement above captures exactly why I don’t think I would buy a jet for my owner-flown transportation needs, even if I had $100MM in the bank. Obviously, others have different needs and desires, and that is fine. It may not be rational, but for me flying into Angwin in my own plane to go to St. Helena is a totally different deal than flying to Napa. Regards, Bob
