Note the FJ33-5A engine is NOT yet certified as of this date, so a problem there also affects the SF-50 schedule. Seems I remember an uncertified Williams engine as being one source of the many Eclipse delays, too...

The FJ33 has a certified variant, the FJ33-4A, so this is a radically better situation than the Eclipse fiasco. I think the -4A was for the D-Jet, so the engine really hasn't had any serious use yet, though. Like all new things, I expect there will be bugs discovered when fielded. Mike C.

So yeah ... I wonder how this is going. Username Protected wrote: Their sales guy just email me TODAY with this:
"The Vision SF50 program is currently on track to deliver the first customer aircraft by the end of 2015 – and, if all goes well, we anticipate building about 75 units in 2016"
So by 1/1/2017, Cirrus says 76 deliveries.
I say zero.
Anybody else want to guess the number?
Let's see who is closest.

Engine not certified yet. Little to no discussion of type ratings, training. First one in 2015? Tick, tick... Deliver 75 in 2016? Yeah, right... It is conceivable they won't deliver 1 in 2016 either. It is cool. I can't get over the fact that it is about the slowest jet ever made.

Some interesting data tidbits. (3:10) Climbs 2000 fpm at 160 KIAS (3:50) 11,500', 54% thrust, 101 gph. (4:13) 232 KIAS, 250 KIAS Vne (4:26) Vle (Vlo?) 210 KIAS, Vfe 190 (good!) (5:23) OAT 1°C at 5600', or about ISA -2 (perhaps we can assume similar ISA for the 11,500' and climb performance quoted too?) Performance like my MU2, except slower in the climb and more fuel burn at 11,500. Wonder what the OEI range is?
