The speed increase gets larger as altitude increases so at lower altitudes the speed increase will not be as much but still significant. Rate of climb above FL180 is also significantly improved.
The cowling will be on display at the NBAA booth 5334.
Jim, are you doing the TBM next?
There seems to be some interest in the TBM community. Doing a mod like this on a certified airplane is super expensive and very time consuming but it is worth considering.

That is, similar areodynamic refinements to those TBM applied to their cowling to turn the 850 into the 900? The TBM 900 cowling is similar to our Cheyenne cowling we did in the early 1990's. Externally our Pilatus cowling is similar in shape to the TBM 900 cowling.

It would shave about 15 minutes off of a 4 hour flight of 1200 miles. Adds a bit of range. It would take a very long time to pay back in fuel and engine savings at the price of the the PC12 mod, plus install and painting costs. There are a number of guys saying they're in but I don't get it. It will be interesting to see how well the PC12 mod sells.

Jim, do you have a test plane or test customer that I can talk with. Also, can you talk about the temps/torque etc at those speeds and does P&W care about the cowl design?
I'll take an extra 20knots for 85k!!!!! Frankly that's a no brainer. Honeywell wants that for synthetic vision!!!
IF the PC12's big thing is going to be bigger windows and nicer seats, then they'd better slap themselves silly. Pilots want faster/longer range and bigger airplane.

True, but I am pretty sure Pilatus knows that >85% of the costs of their planes are underwritten by folks who sit in the back. They’d just be catering to the bulk of their customers. -JB

It would be great if the new windows were a result of beefing up the pressure vessel to support a higher cabin PSI to compete with the Denali. "At the aircraft’s 31,000-foot service ceiling, the Denali’s 7.55 psi cabin differential will mimic an aircraft flying at 6,130 feet"

It should just clamp into place like the rest of the panels that surround the cowling. But yes will need to be painted.
A new Hartzell scimitar prop is $75K. Adds a few knots. The PC12NGX is supposed to be even faster than the current model. Who knows with this cowl mod on a PC12NGX we could be approaching 300TAS.

Looks like larger windows for PC-12NGX. I used google translate. Quote: Pilatus has further upgraded its PC-12 and will now introduce the latest version of the PC-12 at the NBAA-BACE. Larger windows resembling the PC-24 are among the external features of the PC-12NGX , the latest version of the Swiss turboprop. The "new" PC-12 will feature a new version of the Pratt & Whitney turbine and an improved hard cell propeller. https://skynews.ch/zivilluftfahrt/pc-12ngx-nbaa/
