Did you use a service to do this or did you do it yourself? Vince Haven't done this yet, won't do it until closing, but it is my understanding that this is a pretty straightforward process for aircraft which have FAA type certificates and haven't had any non-FAA approved modifications. This will require an inspection and then a bit of time for paperwork and a bit of paint. I don't expect any issues as the plane I'm dealing with was on the N-reg for most of its life before being moved to the C-reg and has major maintenance and upgrades done by top US shops, even after being exported. We shall see How it goes...

We shall see How it goes... Well, I would not just take it for granted. I have personally transferred over a half dozen planes from foreign reg to FAA and whilst it generally goes without a hitch, there is always the risk that something does not pass the DAR's scrutiny. I would start contacting DARs now and get a general feeling for what they want to see.

Thanks, not taking it for granted, this is going on. I'm doing as the prebuy, an FAA annual/150 hour in a US shop which is one of the main Commander specialists, which has done this before and have a DAR they have worked with on these importations before.

I am facing some of the same issues, delays!
I keep thinking about having patience!! Right!!! It's time to put it in the hangar.
And the tax stuff will now be put off until 2016.
Patrick we definitely need to compare notes in CMA when everything come together.
