No offense, Vince. I suspect you aren't an airline pilot, like the subject claimed to be. And, congrats on the ATP - that's a big deal, no matter what you're driving.

Now, thanks to Don, I have to go back and read the middle nine pages...or not. Here's the Reader's Digest version, since I had to read the whole thing... Some guy using the name "Keith Gordon" claimed his wife recently came into $150M and he was in the process of upgrading from a Bo to a CJ4. In fact, the CJ was in the shop for paint while 'ol Keith was getting his multi and type. Oh, I forgot to mention that Keith is also an airline pilot...without a multi. Keith was a little squirrelly with details, but did (eventually) privately supply an N number to a BT'er...which turned out to be CJ in transition from Textron ownership to some Japanese governmental agency. I think that about sums it up. If I missed anything relevant in my summary, please feel free to add. In conclusion, everyone smelled the BS and then called BS. Non-multi-but-ATP Keith is now a former BT member.
Pretty much sums ‘er up. Kind of bummed they erased the thread. It was a classic. Claimed to work for Alaska Airlines as a pilot flying to Asia. Didn’t know they had a single engine fleet that flew that route

Mark, the threads are still there (CJ4 thread is locked). On this thread, our good friend Keith had this much to say about the Kona, Hawaii to Seattle route: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=104771&p=1372965#p1372965Username Protected wrote: ...having flown Hawkers, Challenger 601s and 604s all over the world, Piaggio Avanti P180s, Barons (actually T-42s) and boatloads of various military and civil King Airs for thousands of hours...

The highlight (for me) of the thread link Alex provided was seeing the posts from Theodore Wright congratulating Keith and offering advice.

I don't think we need to kick TR in the head anymore.
He's not doing well from what I heard. He's semi suicidal. Losing your wife, daughter, all your money and assets (legitimate or otherwise) and rotting in prison for a few more years must be pretty horrific. He has definitely been punished for whatever crimes the government chose to accuse him of (none of us really know what he did or did not do).
TR has suffered enough. If you've ever met the guy, he's not a bad a guy but probably made some very bad decisions. Personally, I'd enjoy welcoming him back to BT and hearing his side of the story. Heaven knows, you cannot believe a word you read in the media or from the government about what he did.
FREE TR, the world is better off with a reformed TR than a dead one.

He doesn't show up on the BOP inmate locator. I don't know whether one can opt out from showing up, but most of his co-conspirators show up with their locations and release dates.

"...he's not a bad a guy but probably made some very bad decisions."
No pun intended, but where there's smoke, there's (very likely) fire. I surely would give him a pass on one incident, short of there being egregious circumstances. But two incidences with one's "luxury vehicles" in a short period of time raises huge red flags. FOUR catastrophic loses in a short period of time makes it very difficult to have compassion for a man who negatively impacted the lives of many. I feel for his (ex)wife and daughter, not for him having lost them. Self-inflicted wounds.
From the DOJ website:
Theodore Robert Wright, III, pleaded guilty on Dec. 7, 2017, to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit arson and was sentenced to 65 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Ron Clark. Wright was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $988,544.83.
According to information presented in court, Wright led a multi-jurisdictional fraud and arson scheme that spanned from Hawaii to the Gulf of Mexico and involved the destruction of various luxury goods, including vehicles, aircraft, and vessels. Wright and his co-conspirators, Shane Gordon, 46, and Raymond Fosdick, 42, both of Houston, and Edward Delima, 42, of Honolulu, Hawaii, acquired luxury goods and obtained insurance coverage for those goods in amounts exceeding their purchase prices. Wright and his co-conspirators then devised and carried out schemes to destroy those goods and defraud insurance companies.
The various assets destroyed in the scheme included a 1966 Beechcraft Baron, a 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo, a 1971 Cessna 500, and a 1998 Hunter Passage. The Beechcraft Baron made an emergency landing in the Gulf of Mexico, sank in deep water, and was not recovered. The Lamborghini Gallardo crashed into a ditch full of water, causing the vehicle to flood. The Cessna 500 was completely destroyed when Fosdick set it on fire at Wright’s direction at an airport in Athens, Texas. The Hunter Passage sank in a marina in Hawaii. Fraudulent insurance claims were filed in relation to each of these incidents. Wright and his co-defendants also filed a fraudulent $1 million personal injury lawsuit related to the crash in the Gulf of Mexico. The suit was settled for $100,000.

I’m defending TR, just saying the world has taken its pound of flesh from him. I hope he gets out and can lead a productive and happy life.

Modern psychology would suggest all any criminal has to do is realize the actuality of why he did what he did and make the correct adjustments. And pay for his offenses of course. Yet the fact is only the individual can accomplish this task. And it usually means going to a bare bottom and surveying what is left. TR’s chances of doing this are better than the many that are trapped in a irreparable rage. I actually hope The best for TR, and always have. But Mike it will never be like before. And that’s a good thing.
