How fast does that new rocket climb? It's about $20k for AC in experimental

I got a quote for $13ish, actual unit is $5,500, that's for the compressor driven one, I'm not going all electric because I didn't like the CG moving so far aft.
The rocket climbs at 1,500-1750 FPM at 165kts with cool cylinders. It will do much more but I like to keep my CHTs below 380 degrees.

I forget how heavy the electric unit is.
One nice thing about the electric system though is that they seemingly have had less compressor failures.

My grass strip does not allow turbines unless I pay a huge bribe; that's the only the reason I don't own an Evolution!

Although the LX7 would be better for you IMO. Reason I say that is because it's already what you have, with the acception of the LX7 conversion, but you can put a turbine on it. The LX7/IV-P has tires for grass strips. The Evo doesn't. You CAN put them on it but they hang out of the wing when retracted and you lose top speed. They estimate that the LX7 would cruise 300+ kts with a -28.

I flew the Lancair a solid 4 hours this weekend. Flew with my brother and also a 2 star retired U-2, Viper pilot. Awesome weekend. A few conclusions/thoughts:
-Hot as hell without AC. Plan to install AC very soon! -Met with the interior guy that has done my Barons, decided on a two tone grey interior rather than my usual Ferrari tan. Never owned a grey interior car or plane but it seemed to work for the Lancair. -This airplane burns almost no fuel, it's incredibly efficient.
Learned about the "Initial" overhead approach, neat technique; never even heard of this as a civilian.
I'm headed to OSH on Wednesday; can't wait.

Would you mind if I came by to drool on it? Drool is pretty effective at getting bugs off the leading edge! Enjoy the flight up and I look forward to seeing the speeds on FlightAware since you have to come in IFR. ...maybe we will get to see you land.
