Called. Really nice folks. You can tell they run a quality program. We were booking on our way here.

London - Nice 2 hours on British Airways, 3 hours in a Baron (EGTF-LFMD), 14 hours by car, something really long in a train with 1 or more changes. Planes win.
London - Paris 2h14 city center to city center by train, everything else slower, car slowest at 5h28. Train wins.
I do hear you that you don't have that the typically ridiculous distances between cities which you have in the U.S., with vast open spaces in between, which often makes driving not a viable or pleasant option (other than along the East Coast corridor DC-Philadelphia-NYC-Boston).

Spent 2.5 hours getting from Midtown to Newark on Thursday, there was nothing pleasant about that.
