Very nice choice Arlen, those are GREAT little airplanes with a very nice control feel. (You might find yourself flying it with just your thumb and index finger on the control stick) Also, flying "gentleman" aerobatics in one is a pure joy! You're going to love it!

I get it. Congratulations.

I have about 10 hours in a 6A.

Fork your index and middle fingers with the top of the stick in between and fly on.

Make sure you have lumbar support (pillows) for longer flights.

I haven't flown in an RV6, but I have flown an RV7 and it is an amazing little thing. When I no longer need a back seat I may make the same choice.

Very cool. Congrats.
I have been following the experimental world for years and almost went that way to start but chickened out.

I think I'll spend the first year of my retirement to build one. As manufacturer, there is very little you can't do yourself (I believe the transponder check ).

Congratulations, I knew this was coming :tape: .

Arlen, great choice as that picture just has fun written all over it. But where do you put the P&P rescues? ;)

It will definitely not allow as many rescued dogs at one time. My wife always holds one or two, and there is room for some small ones in crates behind the seats. We'll adapt..

Hey Arlen,
I know one of the RV Team AeroDynamix guys who put a Stroker 370 in his -6 when his 320 tired out. I will say....VERY nice, VERY fast, VERY impressive.
The airplane flies great with any of the approved engines but that 205hp is nice.
Do you have a 320 or 360?
When it comes time to put a motor in my RV7 build, I am thinking seriously about the 370. Have a whole bunch of building yet to go before I get to that point though.
For now I just look at the unfinished plane in my garage and make airplane noises.

Enjoy your fantastic plane!

Scott

Hi Scott.

This is the Lycoming O-360, 180 hp. Since the plane only weighs just over 1000 pounds, it's quite a bit of power and speed. I have the Hartzell constant speed prop..

That's a fairly upgraded panel for a 6. I don't see many with newer panels. Congrats. I had a 7A for several years and loved most things about except for how I fit in it.

The one detail I have decided on is using a constant speed prop. It is just too difficult to fly formation and aerobatics without one.

Yeah, love the panel.

Here's how the seller described the work he'd done with the electrical system and panel:
------------------------------------
all new electrical system designed with dual alternators, single battery with endurance buss. bob nuckolls Z-13 architecture

standby alternator can be enabled/disabled separately from main alternator

e-buss can send the standby alt and/or battery directly to the e-buss without powering other non-essential items

avionics and electrical system were designed to support comfortable redundancy for hard ifr. can sustain TWO major system failures upon takeoff and still fly IFR as long as there is fuel in the tanks and shoot an instrument approach at the end
---------------------------------------------

This doesn't all make sense to me, but it may to some others here.
