- I wish i'd bought a low wing - I'm getting too old to climb up these wings - Why does the bonanza always get to go in first? My personal favorite - "I'm selling my 160kt. Baron so i can afford my 120kt. 182. I can't keep both"

I don't know if I just got use to it, or the higher sitting 182S made the difference, but it wasn't as bad. Only one serious head ding in the old 172 trainer.

Last year, stepping off the wing on my cherokee I slipped on the step and it ground up my whole shin as my foot slid down to the ground.... did some pretty nice damage to my leg

My post would say.... My 1975 C-172M is an absolutely FABULOUS first airplane that was cheap to buy, economical to operate, is comfortable, will carry 636 pounds with full fuel, no CG problems, is silly simple to operate, there will always be a strong market for resale, product support is excellent, every mechanic knows how to fix it, the O-320 E2D is truly bulletproof, and its equally happy on a breakfast run or being used for a weekend getaway. 110 ktas on 7.5 gph. And on a trip of 250nm it only takes about 40 minutes longer to get there than an A36, for roughly 1/3 the operating cost. But with that being said, I still want a Bonanza!

So what's the deal with the rear view mirror? Maybe for checking for traffic while passing on the taxi lane. Russ

With a 30 kt headwind my A36 burning 15 gph at 170 kts true will get there an hour and twenty before you and burn +/- four gallons more. I could slow down a little, beat you by an hour and burn less fuel, but I didn't buy a bo to go slow.
