Ok that is totally weird. I assume that everyone that clicked yesterday saw the correct video, yes?

Nope. I didn’t get the correct video until the one just posted above.

You were posting a link to a list of shorts. That one may have been at the top when you posted it, but it quickly moved down and disappeared from the list so the only videos visible were entirely unrelated.

Turning away from any link posting snafu…

Thanks for posting Tom, that was a really nice advertisement for general aviation to people who may have interest in mechanical things. On a widely watched platform. Cirrus has advanced the state of the art of piston aircraft and deserve to show it off and talk about what they can do. Neat stuff.

Most interesting statistic: About 35% of the people buying new Cirrus are new to aviation.

If you followed it from the start, that was one of the goals of the Klapmeiers. They saw a market for the folks who were buying luxury automobiles.

Not just automobiles, but every luxury hobby/interest/lifestyle pursuit became an entry point for Cirrus marketing. RV shows, boat shows, golf events, whatever & wherever people were spending money became an avenue to bring more people into GA. Cirrus deserves a lot of credit for finding those folks that did not grow up in our world and converting them. Yes, they might look like dorks with their wheels hanging out, but having more pilots and owners is a good thing in our universe.

I'd like to know how they got that Cirrus in his garage, I don't think it is next to an airport.

Located almost on the field at Burbank. You can actually google maps the location, it will show up.

Textron won't pay for the product placement. They are not very interested in selling any more Bonanzas than they have to

One year at a Max Grogan DKX fly-in we had a Demo G36 and a Demo SR22. They were parked side by side on the ramp with representatives for each standing by to answer questions. Anyone who wanted to could sit in either one. The contrast was telling. The SR22 got tons of attention, the G36 got some polite looks, and the reason was obvious; The SR22 looked new and modern, it looked like a high end luxury car with wings. The Bonanza was nice, but it looked like any other 36 model that someone gave a new interior and panel update. There was no "wow". I felt bad for the Textron rep. I would not have been surprised if Arlen had taken the SR home (IIRC this was pre-310) ;)

So, no, posting about featuring a Bonanza won't change the water level. Given what the two planes have to offer, at the price points for each, it's an easy win for Cirrus.
