This young man has been flying with me since he was about 3. At age 9, he is much more cautious about how he flies, but one of his favorite things is when I let him follow the Hudson River. He likes gently weaving back and forth.

How long has he seriously had the controls? I’m concerned with my 4 yr old but that’s partly because i fly an 8000 lb 350 kt plane.

Rudy, I’ve always let him fly about as much as he wants. Even though he’s tall for his age he still can’t see over the glare shield, so sometimes I’ll just have him hold an altitude or heading for a while.

My Dad, that taught me to fly, me, and my Son.
My son just turned 37, so the photo is old...

I have almost that same picture.
The frustrating thing for me is that she she flew a better stabilized approach at age 9 in the beech than she does now as an 18 year old PPL in a cessna 172. I blame the cessna.
