Steve, thanks for that info. Next time the opportunity presents itself, I won't be shy.
I had to talk to the FBO manager at ALB about something else today and he told me that it was a very successful week for the tour here, so hopefully they'll return next year. They sold out rides on the bombers and even added two flights for the B-24, and the Stearman, T-6, and C-45 were constantly working. The Warbird Factory brought over another T-6 on Sunday and was also doing rides.
My dad flew skydivers when I was a toddler, and some of my earliest memories are at that airport, watching him fly the Twin Beech (or a rotating cast of 180s and 182s). It's hard not to love planes like that when you catch the bug early.

The Grimes C-45 is the creation of Jerry Gecowets of Urbana, Ohio. quote: Jerry has an avid interest in airplanes and is President of the Grimes Flying Lab Foundation-Restoration of Flying Lab (C-45) and creation of a museum to house aircraft and display products and accomplishments of Warren G. Grimes and the Grimes Manufacturing Company in the main hanger building at Grimes Field. unquote
In one of is early careers he was the General Manager of Lighting Products for Grimes Division of Midland-Ross and at one point, the bird had 80 different types of Grimes lights installed.
He's 86 and no longer flying, but Im pretty sure he's still involved with the museum on the field at Urbana.
A very cool guy!

We were thrilled to be following a Beech 18 into Treasure Cay in the Bahamas this week. We were astounded to see that they were the Amazon delivery service. And look at what nice shape it’s in! Makes me want one.
