Also, have some perspective....what percentage of the GA community do you think can afford to own, operate and occasionally upgrade a P210N?

I've never understood why "just change the channel" isn't a valid course of action for those who don't want to see particular content.

You can also check out The Pilot's Place: http://thepilotsplace.net. It's less active than BT or PoA, but for the most part the discussions are pretty good, by which I mean "not batstuff crazy" and "not at all like the comments section of any political article on facebook." Many are renters or owners of much more modest planes than yours. Dr. Chien participates there as well.

I had to walk away from PoA. All the stupid made me irritable.

But some of you rich people need poor people like me* to fly them around safe and sound. BT is an excellent resource, not just for plane ownership...

*although I count myself lucky to now not be poor anymore. Still, affording an aircraft is out of this realm.

Hi David.
I like your taste. The X+ is a phenomenal aircraft and also quite efficient due to its M.925 cruise speed.
However if you’re looking for an inexpensive option I’m not sure that’s it.
Researching and buying an airplane although exhausting is fun and rewarding.

I'll never be able to own a jet and most likely not even a turboprop. The jet and turboprop threads are some of my favorites! Honestly the OP's post just reeks of bitterness and jealousy... if you are triggered by certain threads don't open them. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it should be moved away or cancelled.

Of the 25 threads on the first page I x'd 15. Now when I see the x I don't have to read the title of the thread to find it is of no interest and this helps immensely. I simply didn't know about capability since I am not really a forum hound. It's all about efficiency for me. Had I known about the x'ing I wouldn't have started this thread at all.

Have you ever been to a party where everyone was talking about how much money they made, the expensive vacations they take, the cars they drive, and the expensive house(s) they own? It can be kind of off-putting to the non-wealthy. Around here, I just laugh when people talk about their "new panel" which is worth more than my entire aircraft. I laugh for two reasons: 1. I figure they had to borrow money for their plane and panel, while my humble aircraft is fully paid for, and 2. My plane flies as fast as a Bonanza on 6 GPH. I can afford to fly and maintain it out of my meager SS checks. How many here can say the same?

I've suggested that the Brand X forum be divided into "Brand X" and "Brand X Turbines" just like the Beech threads... it hasn't happened so I am guessing it is easier said than done!

I haven't X'd out any Brand X pistons... I love all airplanes.

Last time I checked, you can ignore any thread.

I hope BT stays like CL and is roughly the same 25 years from now. No other internet site has been as useful to me as BT. I might still be flying my Dakota around (which was awesome btw) had it not been for BrandX and reading about the things I couldn't afford at the time.

I wish there were more threads about things I can't afford. Gives me something to shoot for. The night I saw someone post that their Astra costs 2mm a year to run, I realized I need to buckle down and work harder. Falcon 50 by 50 is the target. Even if I miss, I will hopefully get to read about someone else doing it in BrandX.
